Markham is home to the deepest concentration of Chinese food plazas anywhere in North America. Each has its own personality and specialty. Here's the complete map.

Pacific Mall

The largest indoor Chinese mall in North America. Strongest for: food court variety, phone accessories, K-pop merchandise, traditional Chinese tea. See our complete Pacific Mall guide.

First Markham Place (FMP)

The dining destination. 50+ restaurants ranging from Hong Kong cha chaan teng to Korean BBQ to Indian. Strongest for: sit-down dining, bubble tea, dim sum. See our FMP food guide.

Splendid China Tower

The food-court-focused plaza. Underrated for: Sichuan dry-pot, Taiwanese street food, the new wave of independents that have moved in over the last two years.

Market Village

Connected to Pacific Mall. Strongest for: Beijing roast duck, Northern Chinese dumplings, and specialty grocery stores.

Times Square

Smaller and quieter than the others. Best for: a relaxed dim sum experience without the Pacific Mall crowds, and several excellent under-the-radar restaurants.

Hilltop Plaza

Cathedral Town's Chinese food destination. Strongest for: Sichuan and Hunan specialists, hot pot, regional Chinese cuisines that don't usually get representation.

How to pick which to visit

Going with kids? FMP (most sit-down options). Quick lunch? Splendid China Tower food court. Shopping plus snacks? Pacific Mall. Special-occasion dim sum? Market Village. Adventurous regional Chinese? Hilltop.
