Editorial Standards

Articles are produced by the Markham Business editorial team and published under that name. We do not attribute articles to individual named writers.

Some articles are guides built directly from the listings in our directory (for example, plaza guides and monthly directory reports). Those guides only repeat information held in the listing records, and they state the date the data was read.

• Articles pass an automated pre-publication check for completeness and directory links: an article that still contains draft markers, is too short, is missing its cover or summary, or does not link into the directory is held back instead of published.
• Business details (addresses, phone numbers, ratings) come from our directory records. See how verification works for what the Verified badge means.

Details change: businesses move or close, and financial products change their fees and terms. Each listing page carries the current record for that business, and owners can claim their listing to correct it. When we learn an article is out of date, we update it or take it down.

For anything time-sensitive (hours, prices, product terms) please confirm directly with the business or the product issuer before you rely on it.

• Advertisers, affiliate partners and listing customers cannot pay to change what an article says.
• Businesses can pay for Featured placement. Featured businesses can rank higher in directory results and in our directory-based guides, and are labelled “Featured” in both. Featured placement never changes the facts we show about a business.

When an error is reported, we check it against the source. If the page is wrong, we update the page.
