"Worth watching" is usually an editor's hunch. This list is not: it is the five strongest Google standings in the MarkhamBusiness.com directory right now, drawn from five different categories so it reads as a cross-section of the local scene rather than a single trade.
The ranking is the same one our weekly guides use. Each Google rating is adjusted for how many reviews stand behind it, so a 5.0 earned across two hundred visits outranks a 5.0 earned across five. Ratings and review counts below are from our directory records as of August 20, 2026.
1. Jake Shen — Criminal Defence Lawyer 5.0 ★ (212 reviews)
A former Toronto police officer turned criminal defence lawyer, serving clients in English and Mandarin. A perfect 5.0 across 212 reviews is the single strongest standing in the directory — in any category.
