Markham is fundamentally a suburb — most restaurants close by 10 PM. But if you know where to look, there are real late-night options.
1. Congee Queen — First Markham Place
Open till midnight most nights. Reliable Hong Kong-style congee, noodles, and stir-fries.
2. Magic Wok — Highway 7
Open till 1 AM. Hong Kong cha chaan teng menu — silky milk tea, French toast, pineapple buns with butter, plus full Cantonese dishes.
3. Chick-N-Joy — Cathedral Town
Korean fried chicken till 1 AM. The soy garlic and the spicy versions are both excellent.
4. Pho Pasteur — Hillcrest Mall area
Open till midnight. A bowl of pho after a late drive is one of life's underrated pleasures.
5. Lao Hot Pot — Highway 7
Open till 2 AM weekends. Communal hot pot is the perfect late-night with-friends meal.
6. Ramen Misoya — Markham Road
Open till 1 AM. Their miso ramen is the best late-night noodle option in Markham.
7. 7-Eleven — Various Locations
Open 24 hours. The new 2025 menu rollout includes legitimately decent Korean-style street food: hot dogs, kimbap, and instant ramen prepared at the counter.
What to know
Late-night hours change seasonally — call before you drive. Most spots are cash-friendly but accept cards. The food court at Pacific Mall closes at 9 PM sharp; the streetside spots above all stay open longer.
