One farmers' market in Markham has a schedule we can point you to with confidence this season. Here it is, verified against the organizer's own page — plus the honest status of the other one people ask about.
Main Street Markham Farmers' Market — Saturdays, 9 AM to 1 PM
Per the market's official page, it runs every Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM, May 9 through Thanksgiving, in the parking lot at Markham Main Street & Robinson St. The organizer is the Markham Village BIA — the business improvement area for historic Main Street, and a listing in our directory. The official vendor roster spans farmers, local honey producers, artisans, and baked goods, with full-season regulars including Forsythe Family Farms and Willy Bee Honey.
What about Unionville?
The Unionville BIA has run a Sunday market at the Stiver Mill in past seasons. For 2026, its site currently lists Music on The Street — live performances on Main Street Unionville every summer weekend from June 13 to September 13 — but no market schedule. Rather than reprint a stale schedule, we will say it straight: check unionville.ca for the current season before making the trip.
What's in season
Ontario's market calendar, roughly: strawberries, asparagus, and rhubarb in June; cherries, blueberries, and peas in July; peaches, tomatoes, corn, and beans in August; apples, pears, and squash from September to close.
Tips for first-timers
Bring a tote and some cash — cards work at most stalls, but cash moves faster. Walk the whole market once before buying anything. Buy perishables last. And arrive early on long weekends; the season's best Saturdays are the ones that sell through.
