Hosting friends or family from out of town? Here's how to give them a memorable 24-hour Markham experience.

Morning: Pacific Mall + dim sum

Start at Casa Imperial or Crown Princess for an early-ish dim sum (10 AM). Then walk through Pacific Mall — a full experience even for non-shoppers.

Midday: Unionville Main Street

Drive 15 minutes north to historic Main Street Unionville. Walk the strip, do the Toogood Pond loop, grab coffee at Wildflour.

Afternoon: pick a cultural anchor

Two options: the Markham Museum (engaging for adults and kids) or the Varley Art Gallery (excellent rotating exhibits in a small but well-curated space).

Early evening: First Markham Place dinner

Choose based on the visitor's interest — sit-down dim sum, Korean BBQ, Indian, or Mediterranean. FMP has all of them under one roof.

Evening: Bubble tea + Downtown Markham walk

End with a brown sugar boba from Truedan and a stroll through Downtown Markham's plaza and fountain area.

If you have more time

For a second day: Rouge Valley trails in the morning, then the Markham Night Market (Friday/Saturday in summer), or a drive up to the Stouffville Strawberry Festival in season.
